What Victoria has been reading

Since January our members have kept a weekly list of everything published about Victoria city hall: news reports, opinion columns, and a great many letters from residents. This is that list, 157 pieces sorted by issue and linked to the original. The one-line notes are our members' own reading of each piece.

How to use this

Nothing here is ours. These are other people's articles and other people's letters, linked to where they were published. We keep the list because the arguments in this election did not start this month, and because a claim is easier to weigh when you can see who else was making it, and when.

The notes under each entry are our members' own summaries, written at the time. They are opinions, not neutral abstracts, and several of them are pointed. Read the original before you rely on the note.

Letters and opinion pieces are the authors' views, not ours, and appear here whether or not we agree with them.

Where the deep detail lives

  • the OCP guide walks through the 2025 Official Community Plan clause by clause.
  • the real tax bill traces where the money went, with every figure sourced.
  • the glossary explains the terms council uses in plain language.

We read city hall so you do not have to.
